Steelers Star Defender Earns Second Straight Pro Bowl Selection

Patrick Queen is heading to the Pro Bowl

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be well represented in the Pro Bowl Games this year.

Though the Steelers season may be over after losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the playoffs, a group of their players’ season lives on after being named to the Pro Bowl. Three Steelers defensive stars were initially chosen, including Cameron Heyward, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and T.J. Watt (though he declined to participate).

Kicker Chris Boswell was also named a Pro Bowler. With some players busy playing in the Super Bowl or not playing due to injury, Steelers star linebacker Patrick Queen was named an alternate for the Pro Bowl, according to Penn Live’s Nick Farabaugh.

“Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker Patrick Queen is heading to the Pro Bowl,” Farabaugh said. “Queen was selected as an alternate for Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith, who pulled out of the games. Queen is now a two-time Pro Bowler after making his first Pro Bowl in 2023 as a member of the Ravens.”

“He was also selected as a second-team All-Pro in 2023, though this year was a rockier year for Queen. Either way, Queen will be back in 2025 and core piece of the Steelers’ defense in the future.”

Queen played well in his first season with the Steelers. The veteran linebacker played in every game for Pittsburgh this season, accounting for 129 total tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He signed a three-year, $41 million contract keeping him with Pittsburgh through the 2026 season and will look to keep the momentum going after being named to two straight Pro bowls.
