Steelers’ QB Floated As Potential Fit For Titans In Free Agency

Will Fields part ways with the Steelers after only one season?

After a solid season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, quarterback Justin Fields may potentially be parting ways with the team.

The Steelers traded the Chicago Bears for Fields last offseason in exchange for a sixth-round pick. The young quarterback joined Pittsburgh after spending his first three seasons in Chicago. He is a former first-round pick who performed well this season after Russell Wilson began the season injured.

In the six games that Fields started, he led the Steelers to a 4-2 record, passing for 1,106 yards and five touchdowns and one interception, while rushing for another 289 yards and five touchdowns. With Fields set to be a free agent, the Tennessee Titans were one team listed as a potential fit for the young signal caller, according to Pro Football Focus’ Mason Cameron.

“With the No. 1 draft pick in hand, new Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi faces a difficult decision regarding the franchise’s direction, particularly at quarterback,” Cameron wrote.

“Chad Brinker, Titans president of football operations, said the team ‘won’t pass on a generational talent,’ leading many to believe he’s referring to Colorado’s Travis Hunter. With Will Levis’ struggles, Tennessee will still want to address quarterback, and Fields is a cost-effective option with upside.”

The Titans need are in desperate need of a quarterback this offseason. Will Levis has not been the answer for the team. With the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, they could look to fix their issues by drafting either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, but if Tennessee goes in another direction, Fields could be a great option for them under center.
