The Pittsburgh Steelers now know who they will face off against in the National Football League Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
It’s been a long season, but the playoffs are just about here. Pittsburgh will face off against the AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, Jan. 11 with kick-off scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at M&T Bank Stadium. This likely is a scary sight for Steelers fans as they just faced off against Baltimore on the road on Dec. 21 and lost 34-17.
While this is the case, this is a winnable game for the Steelers. Pittsburgh is limping into the playoffs after losing its last four games, but the Steelers already have beaten the Ravens once this season. Pittsburgh faced off against the Ravens on Nov. 17 at home and took down Baltimore, 18-16.
In that game, Lamar Jackson had what probably is one of the worst games of his season. He had 207 passing yards, one touchdown pass, and one interception. Jackson had just four interceptions on the season and one was against Pittsburgh. Jackson very well could win the league’s Most Valuable Player Award once again this year, but the Steelers have surprisingly done a very good job against him over the years.
Jackson actually has a record below .500 against the Steelers throughout his career at 2-4, as shared by Covers.com’s Chris Gregory. It’s certainly going to be a difficult matchup and the Steelers aren’t trending in the right direction, but they were considered to be one of the top contenders in the AFC at one point this season for a reason. The season isn’t over and they shouldn’t be counted out against the Ravens.
