Aaron Rodgers Makes NFL History In Steelers’ Huge Win Vs. Dolphins

Rodgers turned in a vintage performance

Aaron Rodgers recently celebrated his 42nd birthday earlier this month, but he’s still playing at a high level for the Pittsburgh Steelers in his 21st NFL season.

While he’s not the MVP quarterback he used to be, Rodgers is still pretty good. In 13 games this season, he’s 8-5 with 22 passing touchdowns, seven interceptions, and 2.594 passing yards while completing two-thirds of his passes.

On Monday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins, Rodgers led the Steelers to their second straight win with a record-setting performance in primetime.

Despite subfreezing temperatures at Acrisure Stadium, the four-time NFL MVP completed 23 of his 27 passes for 224 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Pittsburgh’s 28-15 victory over the Dolphins, finishing with a 125.8 passer rating.

His 85.2 percent completion rate wasn’t just a season high for him — it also made him the oldest starting quarterback in NFL history to complete at least 85 percent of his passes in a game, per OptaSTATS.

Rodgers’ elite accuracy in suboptimal conditions kept the Steelers’ offense humming and moving down the field. They scored touchdowns on four straight possessions for the first time in seven years, breaking the game open in the second half.

The former Super Bowl champ threw for a season-high 284 yards against the Baltimore Ravens last week, so he’s off to a great start in December after a miserable November. He’ll look to keep it up in a tough road matchup against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, where at least he’ll get to be indoors.
