The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t done looking for weapons to put around Aaron Rodgers, but one option could soon sign elsewhere.
The New Orleans Saints are scheduled to host former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis on a visit Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Davis also recently visited 100 Art Rooney Ave, but left without a deal in place and is still open to other options.
Davis, 26, still has plenty of money owed to him from his last deal, so the terms of the contract likely won’t play a large factor in his ultimate landing spot. The Jaguars released him just one offseason after inking him to a three-year deal, moving on from the veteran after he tore his meniscus this past November — getting just 20 receptions for the $24 million in guaranteed money they paid him.
Davis also took visits with the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants this offseason, so it’s been a busy few months.
The Steelers don’t need to overextend themselves when it comes to a potential deal, so don’t be surprised if they’re quiet in pursuing the former big-play wideout.
