Two of the best players in their respective sports recently swapped jerseys when Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes visited the Buffalo Bills’ practice facility this week.
Accompanied by girlfriend Livvy Dunne and teammate Jared Jones, Skenes swapped jerseys with Bills quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen this week. Fans have confused the two stars in the past given their similar appearance, but that should be less likely now that Skenes is clean-shaven.
Allen told Skenes he played baseball growing up in California, playing first base and pitcher.
“I loved it,” Allen told the reigning NL Cy Young winner. “One thing I miss is just shagging balls in the outfield in high school. Just eating seeds, talking (expletive) to the boys. If I could go back, I’d do that.”
Skenes also met Buffalo running back James Cook and head coach Sean McDermott, among others. He told McDermott that his offseason has “flown by” and “gets faster every year.”

The Bills are preparing for their regular-season finale on Sunday against the New York Jets, which will also be their last game ever at Highmark Stadium. After more than 50 years as the team’s home, the stadium will close after this season and be replaced by a new, more modern one.
Despite all of their individual success, Allen and Skenes are both still searching for their first championships. As a wild card team, Buffalo won’t play any home playoff games this postseason.
