Why Aaron Rodgers Has ‘Full Confidence’ Steelers Will Win AFC North Title

'We’ve done it all season'

Aaron Rodgers isn’t panicking after the Pittsburgh Steelers complicated their playoff path with a Week 17 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Pittsburgh’s offense sputtered in a 13-6 loss to Cleveland, which improved to 4-12. The Steelers must now defeat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night to capture the AFC North title and make the playoffs.

Rodgers remains optimistic that his team will get the job done. The 42-year-old quarterback said after Sunday’s game, per The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo, that he has “full confidence” the Steelers will pull out a must-win victory at Acrisure Stadium.

“Because we’ve done it all season,” Rodgers said when asked why he’s confident. “We’ve handled adversity well. When we had to play our best ball, we did… other than today.”

To Rodgers’ point, the Steelers have responded from hard times and flipped the script in 2025. They followed ugly defensive showings in back-to-back losses against the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers by defeating the Indianapolis Colts, who entered the Week 9 game with a 7-1 record and the league’s top-ranked offense.

Pittsburgh fumbled that momentum by losing three of the next four games, sparking questions about head coach Mike Tomlin’s job security. The Steelers then defeated the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions on the road during a three-game winning streak.

Rodgers and Co. must turn the page again with the season on the line. Oddsmakers have their doubts, as the Steelers are 3.5-point home underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook despite Lamar Jackson’s uncertain Week 18 availability.
