Steelers Enshrine Three Legends In Hall Of Honor

Ben Roethlisberger is among them

The Pittsburgh Steelers added three franchise legends to their Hall of Honor over the weekend, officially enshrining Ben Roethlisberger, Maurkice Pouncey and Joey Porter Sr. during a special dinner at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday night.

Roethlisberger spent his entire 18-year NFL career with the Steelers from 2004 to 2021, leading them to two Super Bowl titles during the 2005 and 2008 campaigns. A six-time Pro Bowler, Roethlisberger holds numerous franchise records, including most games played, passing yards and passing touchdowns.

Pouncey also spent his entire 10-year career with Pittsburgh from 2010 to 2020. The star center worked closely with Roethlisberger for a decade, making nine Pro Bowls, two First Team All-Pros and three Second Team All-Pros.

The 11th overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft, Roethlisberger jokingly thanked the Cleveland Browns for not drafting him during his speech on Sunday night.

Porter, whose son now plays for the Steelers, spent his first eight seasons with Pittsburgh from 1999 to 2006. The star linebacker made three Pro Bowls, two Second Team All-Pros and a First Team All-Pro during that time while also winning a Super Bowl.

All three were some of the franchise’s most important players in the 21st century and standouts at their positions, contributing to Pittsburgh’s impressive success over the last two decades.
