Steelers Receive Concerning DK Metcalf Injury Update After Win Vs. Ravens

What's the latest on Metcalf's injury status?

The Pittsburgh Steelers regained control of the AFC North division on Sunday afternoon with a 27-22 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Wide receiver DK Metcalf was one of the stars of the game, but he received a concerning injury update on Monday morning that has thrown his status for Week 15 into question.

Metcalf turned in arguably the best performance of his young career with the Steelers against the Ravens, as he caught seven passes for 148 yards. Along the way, though, Metcalf took several big hits, and after complaining of stomach pain in the wake of this win, it was reported that the star pass catcher stayed behind in Baltimore and spent the night at a local hospital.

“Steelers standout WR DK Metcalf stayed overnight in (a) Baltimore hotel after going to a local hospital following the game, team spokesman Burt Lauten confirmed,” Ian Rapoport of NFL Network wrote. “Metcalf was experiencing stomach pains on the flight and out of an abundance of caution, team medical personnel sent him to a nearby hospital. He’s flying back to Pittsburgh today.”

The good news is that Metcalf appears to have avoided a significant injury, as he will return to Pittsburgh on Monday. However, his status is up in the air for the Steelers’ upcoming game vs. the Miami Dolphins, which is set for Monday Night Football in Week 15. So while he has an extra day to get healthy, Metcalf’s status will be worth keeping tabs on over the coming days.
