Sidney Crosby Becomes 6th Player To Reach This Absurd Scoring Milestone

Crosby recorded his 500th multi-point game

Sidney Crosby recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday night’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken.

The two-point effort marked the 500th career multi-point game for the 38-year-old, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins 21 seasons ago.

“If you’ve ever watched Crosby play at any point over the last 21 years, there’s a higher percentage chance you’ve seen him record multiple points in a game (500) than zero points (402),” the Penguins’ public relations team wrote in an X post.

At 1,373 games played, Crosby became the third-fastest player on the six-person list to hit this milestone. Only Wayne Gretzky (738) and Marcel Dionne (1,262) did it faster.

The only other three players to hit this benchmark are former Penguin Jaromir Jagr, six-time Stanley Cup champion Mark Messier and the 23-time All-Star Gordie Howe.

Evgeni Malkin finished off Crosby’s milestone-reaching assist. The Penguins fell to a record of 116-10-7 when both Crosby and Malkin scored in the same game.

“That’s a crazy stat, but luckily, we’re on the good side there.”

The future NHL Hall of Famer is showing absolutely no signs of regression in his 21st season in the league. Crosby has recorded 13 goals and ten assists through the first 21 games.

The well-rested Penguins will cap off their six-game homestand with a bout against the surging Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
