Dan Muse Calls Penguins Play ‘Not Good Enough’ After OT Loss

'We need to get points'

Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Muse isn’t happy with his team’s play over the weekend.

Pittsburgh had back-to-back home games on Friday and Saturday against the Minnesota Wild and Seattle Kraken. The Penguins lost 5-0 to the Wild on Friday and lost 3-2 in overtime to Seattle on Saturday. In the loss, Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist, while Evgeni Malkin had the other goal.

Following the overtime loss, Muse made it clear he wasn’t happy with the team’s play and only took one of a possible four points.

“Our game was better, but we just came out of this weekend here with one out of four points,” Muse said postgame on Saturday. “That’s not good enough. And so, was our process better? It was. But we need to get points. We had an opportunity to, and so, it’s a fine line.

“Those little details, those little things that can make a difference here, finding a way to get another opportunity, finding a way to take away one of theirs. So, I’m not going to sit here and say that’s good enough. It’s not.”

With the back-to-back losses, the Penguins fell to 10-6-5 and are now outside of a playoff spot, as Pittsburgh is 3-4-3 in its last 10 games.

The Penguins will return to the ice on Wednesday at home against the Buffalo Sabres.
