The Pittsburgh Steelers disclosed a lengthy injury report ahead of their Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Steelers listed 16 players on Friday’s injury report, but that includes three resting veterans (Cam Heyward, DK Metcalf and Jonnu Smith) who were full practice participants. Darius Slay also returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday for personal reasons.
Will Howard, Ben Skowronek, Pat Freiermuth and recent trade acquisition Kyle Dugger also practiced fully and don’t have a game designation listed. However, another former New England Patriots defensive back won’t play this Sunday.
The Steelers ruled out Jabrill Peppers with a quad injury after missing Friday’s practice. The 30-year-old safety has eight tackles and a fumble recovery this season.
Pittsburgh also ruled out wide receiver Scott Miller (finger) and cornerback Cory Trice Jr. (hamstring/knee). Miller has one catch for nine yards this season, and Trice returned to his first practice in over two months on Wednesday.

“I’m still smiling from ear to ear, man,” Trice said after practicing, per TribLive’s Chris Adamski. “I’m loving it. I feel like I’m ready to go. I’ve got to make sure I’m ready. But it’s really all on (management), though. I’m just showing up and working.”
The Steelers have multiple other health situations to monitor before Sunday. Howard, linebackers Malik Harrison and Cole Holcomb, and defensive back Chuck Clark are all questionable for Week 9.
Starting offensive linemen Zach Frazier (calf) and Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) were limited participants in Friday’s practice, but neither carries an injury designation.

Per Adamski, Frazier said Friday that he “feels a lot better” than he did last week. The 24-year-old center still played every snap in a Week 8 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The Steelers also placed safety DeShon Elliott and defensive tackle Daniel Ekual on the injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s AFC showdown against the red-hot Colts.
