The annual NHL Frozen Frenzy produced tons of action and highlights across the league on Tuesday, including a wild game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers.
The latest chapter of the Battle of Pennsylvania was an instant classic, with the Flyers ultimately winning 3-2 on their home ice in overtime shootouts.
The two sides were never more than a goal apart. Sidney Crosby and Justin Brazeau both scored for the Penguins, continuing their hot starts to the season.
It was just another day at the office for Crosby, who notched his eighth goal of the season and his seventh in his last seven games. This one tied the score at 2-2 with just over eight minutes left in the third period, getting past goaltender Samuel Ersson.
Crosby has dominated Philadelphia throughout his career, and Tuesday’s game was no different. He now has 57 goals and 135 points in 91 career games versus the Flyers — the most by any player in NHL history against them. Those are also the most goals and second-most points Crosby has against an opponent in his career.

Unfortunately for Crosby, he was ineligible to participate in the shootout after coming off the bench and getting involved in a scrum at the end of overtime. That may have cost Pittsburgh the game, as the Penguins were outscored 2-1 in shootouts.
On the bright side, the league announced on Wednesday that the future Hall of Famer won’t receive any further discipline. Accordingly, he should be able to return to the ice on Thursday night when Pittsburgh faces the Minnesota Wild on the road.

Both teams are looking to bounce back from losses, with the Wild hoping to snap a four-game losing streak.
