The Pittsburgh Steelers should consider adding a veteran receiver for the second half of the season, and help may be on the way.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Sunday that the Steelers will work out veteran WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling on Monday.
Valdes-Scantling is currently in his ninth NFL season. He spent the first five games with the San Francisco 49ers, where he recorded four receptions for 40 yards.
The 49ers placed Valdes-Scantling on injured reserve on Oct. 17 and then released him with an injury settlement, allowing him to become a free agent.
Valdes-Scantling shares a strong history with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as they played together on the Green Bay Packers from 2018 to 2022.

The 31-year-old receiver recorded 123 receptions for 2,153 yards and 13 touchdowns in 59 games with the Packers.
It wouldn’t hurt for Pittsburgh to sign Valdes-Scantling and see what he can bring to the table. The Steelers need to find another receiving option to pair with DK Metcalf, and why not sign someone Rodgers is familiar with?
