The Pittsburgh Penguins (6-2-0) are tied atop the Eastern Conference with 12 points.
Pittsburgh is currently riding a four-game winning streak, a stretch that has propelled the group into the top 10 on ESPN’s weekly NHL Power Rankings.
After opening the 2025-26 season ranked 30th on the list, the Penguins improved to 21st last week and are now No. 10 on the rankings.
Under first-year head coach Dan Muse, Pittsburgh’s jump 11 spots this week is the second-biggest in the NHL, trailing only the Utah Mammoth, who went from 24th to ninth amid a five-game winning streak.
The only Eastern Conference teams ranked better than the Penguins this week are the Carolina Hurricanes (third), New Jersey Devils (fourth), Washington Capitals (sixth), Detroit Red Wings (seventh) and Montreal Canadiens (eighth).
