Steelers Urged To Acquire Five-Time Pro Bowl Receiver From Division Rival

Pittsburgh reportedly is looking to add a receiver

The Pittsburgh Steelers are rumored to be interested in trading for a receiver ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline, and one analyst linked them to a star receiver from a division rival.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ that the Steelers are looking for receiver help to bolster the offense ahead of the trade deadline.

“You’ve got the Chargers looking for a running back, the Steelers looking for a receiver,” Schefter said on Monday.

“The acquisition cost for Hopkins shouldn’t be high given his age, and the Ravens won’t need his services much longer with one of football’s worst defenses making it nearly impossible for whoever lines up at quarterback for them to win games. It seems like a win-win deal for two bitter AFC North rivals with the Ravens even getting a single pick back for a 33-year-old receiver on a one-year deal.”

Hopkins signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Ravens this offseason. Although Baltimore is off to a 1-5 start, with quarterback Lamar Jackson set to return, it would be a surprise to see Baltimore be a seller at the deadline.

But Hopkins would give Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers offense another weapon. Despite his age, the veteran is still playing at a high level and would make an impact in Pittsburgh.

Hopkins has recorded nine receptions for 178 yards and two touchdowns this season. He’s a five-time Pro Bowler and a three-time First Team All-Pro.
