Myles Garrett Sends Message To Steelers Fans Before Week 6 Game

'I love it'

Myles Garrett expects a hostile crowd when the Cleveland Browns go to Acrisure Stadium to play the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday.

Before the Week 6 matchup, Garrett posted a video of Steelers fans directed an unflattering chant toward him earlier this summer. Fans shouted, “(Expletive) Myles Garrett” when ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” aired live from their Latrobe training camp facility.

Garrett spliced a few seconds of that footage with Friday’s press conference, where a reporter asked Garrett if he receives more animosity from Steelers faithful in comparison to other road crowds. Perhaps remembering the moment he later shared on social media, the star edge rusher immediately smiled and laughed.

“For sure,” Garrett responded. “And I love it.”

Garrett’s video ended there, but the 29-year-old expanded on his mindset.

“That kind of stuff fuels me,” Garrett said. “I love the chants. I love the talk. That’s part of the game. That’s what makes the game special.”

Garrett has 13 sacks in 14 career games against the Steelers, including three in last season’s Week 12 home win. The four-time All-Pro has four sacks through five games this season, but the Browns are 1-4 with just 14.6 points per game.

While Garrett would enjoy beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh, he’s primarily concerned about saving his team’s season with a much-needed victory.

“Winning in general means a lot. Doesn’t matter where it is or who it is,” Garrett said. “Right now, we need to get a win desperately. There’s got to be a sense of urgency with everybody. Is there some history behind it? I’m sure there’s history behind any win or loss you can go back and find. We want to beat these guys, and there’s definitely layers to it, but the most basic of that is, hell, we need one.”
