Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Derrick Harmon made a big impact in his NFL debut last week.
Linebacker Nick Herbig praised the first-round pick for his performance.
“He did great, especially off of injury,” Herbig told reporters Thursday of Harmon’s first NFL game. “He was out for four or five weeks, and to come in and make an impact like that, you don’t often see that from rookies. Super excited for him and his future.”
Harmon notched two total pressures and one sack in 35 snaps during a 21-14 victory against the New England Patriots this past Sunday.
Harmon joins linebacker T. J. Watt as the only two Steelers players to record a sack in their first NFL game since 2017,according to Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot.

If Harmon improves each week, the Steelers could build one of the best defensive lines in the NFL and cause nightmares for opposing offenses.
Harmon’s return comes at a perfect time, as the Steelers face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Minnesota’s offensive line boasts top-10 run and pass blocking grades in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.
