Jabrill Peppers joined the Pittsburgh Steelers less than a month ago, but he’s already flashed in limited opportunities.
Peppers stood out in the 21-14 win over his former team, the New England Patriots. His head coach, Mike Tomlin, praised him for his effort.
“I thought he played with really good energy,” Tomlin said Monday. “He was productive, making some tackles and causing and recovering a fumble. But aside from all of that, I thought his experience showed, even though he was new to us. He was a really good communicator, part of a first-in-game experience from a defensive unit perspective.”
According to Pro Football Focus, Peppers delivered a standout performance on Sunday, earning a 90.4 defensive grade, the second-highest on the team behind Cameron Heyward.
Peppers made a crucial fumble recovery Sunday as New England advanced into Pittsburgh’s territory while attempting to tie the game in the third quarter.
