Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers Blasts New ‘Spaceship’ Helmet

Earth to Roger Goodell! Aaron Rodgers isn't happy

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, again, made his feelings known about his new helmet on Tuesday, ripping the equipment and comparing it to a “damn spaceship.”

According to a report by ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Rodgers wore the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD during the 2024 season with the New York Jets, but that helmet is now banned for failing to meet new safety standards. The four-time MVP has been practicing with the Schutt Air XP Pro VTD II during training camp.

“I don’t like it, no,” Rodgers said, per Pryor. “I’m trying to change. We’re in the process still. It looks like a damn spaceship out there.”

According to the Steelers reporter, the 41-year-old complained about the headwear in June as well, saying “I can’t stand the helmet.”

“We got to change it. The face mask doesn’t fit the helmet because that’s an old face mask, obviously just like I’m old, but we’re trying to find the right helmet right now,” Rodgers said on Tuesday.
