Team Canada is starting to come together for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
While the 2024 Summer Olympics kicks off Friday, July 26, it’s time to start looking ahead to the winter edition of the worldwide games. For Team Canada, they need to get ready even sooner on the hockey front with the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off right around the corner.
Canada has got the team into motion as they announced additions to the management group on Tuesday, which features the Pittsburgh Penguins president of hockey operations and general manager Kyle Dubas.
Team Canada announced that Dubas will serve as the director of player personnel of Canada’s Men’s Ice Hockey Team for the upcoming Olympics and the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Tampa Bay Lightning’s Julien BriseBois was also added as the assistant general manager.
Canada general manager Doug Armstrong was excited to welcome both Dubas and BriseBois to the team.

“Julien and Kyle are accomplished NHL general managers, and I am excited to welcome them to our management group for both the 4 Nations Face-Off and Olympics, as I believe they will be strong assets to a well-rounded management team,” Armstrong said in the announcement. “Both Julien and Kyle have enjoyed long and successful careers, and we believe their experience and knowledge of NHL players will be a great addition to our staff as we continue to evaluate Canadian players and build rosters for international competition.”
Dubas will be busy between his duties for the Penguins and now Team Canada. The 4 Nations Face-Off will take place from Feb. 12 to Feb. 20 with Canada, USA, Sweden, and Finland competing. Team Canada has already announced that the Penguins’ Sidney Crosby will be on the team along with Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, Brad Marchand, Connor McDavid, and Brayden Point.
The 2026 Winter Olympics are set for Italy and will start on Feb. 6, 2026.
