T.J. Watt Sends Message To Steelers Fans After Signing $123 Million Contract

Watt is pumped to be sticking with Pittsburgh long-term

The Pittsburgh Steelers took care of the last big item on their to-do list this offseason when they signed T.J. Watt to a three-year, $123 million contract extension. On Tuesday, Watt officially put pen to paper on his new deal, and once he did, he sent a quick message to the Steelers fanbase.

The path to Watt earning his new contract wasn’t always smooth, as it involved a slew of rumors along the way. At the end of the day, though, the two sides managed to eventually find common ground, ensuring that Watt will have an opportunity to finish his career with Pittsburgh.

Now that his contract situation is taken care of, Watt can fully turn his attention towards the 2025 season. With training camp set to get underway on Thursday, Watt dropped a quick message to Pittsburgh, letting them know how excited he is to get back on the field for the new season.

“What’s up Steeler Nation, I am excited to be officially be signed to an extension,” Watt said in a video posted on the Steelers’ X account. “So excited to see you guys tomorrow. Here we go, it’s going to be a special year.”

Pittsburgh has been quite busy this offseason, even beyond signing Watt to this mammoth deal. They signed Aaron Rodgers to come in and be their new quarterback in free agency, while pulling off big trades to land DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith. With these moves, it’s clear the team is pushing their chips to the center of the table for the 2025 season.

Keeping Watt around is obviously a huge win for the Steelers, both in the short term and the long term. If he can continue producing at the same rate he’s produced at his entire career, Pittsburgh is going to be a contender in the stacked AFC North alongside the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals.
