Steelers’ Jalen Ramsey Drops Out Of ESPN’s Cornerback Rankings

Ramsey was traded to the Steelers in June

Aaron Rodgers fell out of ESPN’s annual top-10 quarterback rankings on Monday.

Now, one of the Pittsburgh Steelers other biggest offseason acquisitions has dropped off the list for their respective position.

The top-10 NFL cornerbacks entering the 2025 season were revealed on Thursday, the final position ranking by ESPN.

After coming into the 2024 campaign as the fifth-ranked cornerback, Jalen Ramsey is now an honorable mention.

The results came following a survey of league executives, coaches and scouts.

“‘He had a down year last year, but he still had flashes of being the gold standard at corner,” an NFL personnel director told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. “His mix of athletic ability/fluidity, speed and movement skills at that size is rare. He can play man or zone coverage, can play inside as a nickel and has the ability to move to free safety if he wanted to.”

Pittsburgh acquired the seven-time Pro Bowler, as well as 2024 Pro Bowl tight end Jonnu Smith, in late June from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for five-time Pro Bowl safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick swap.

An AFC executive told Fowler that Ramsey is “still a good starter but is in physical decline.”
