Mike Florio is replacing steel with tinfoil, it seems.
Speaking about the recent trade in which the Pittsburgh Steelers acquired Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick and a draft pick, Florio hinted at an underlying reason for the trade.
“Something weird was going on,” Florio said during an appearance on 93.7 “The Fan” in Pittsburgh, as transcribed by Steelers Wire. “I’m waiting for the reports to come out as we get closer to training camp about whatever the issues were between the Steelers and Minkah Fitzpatrick. It just feels like they were lying in the weeds waiting to make this move.”
Those around the league believe Pittsburgh made out just fine in the transaction, however. Mike Tomlin’s team added another star in the defensive backfield and a pass-catcher coming off a Pro Bowl campaign.
The Steelers kick off training camp July 24.
