Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ contract is officially official, and has some important details to keep in mind.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter dropped the details on Saturday, reporting that the base value is worth $13.65 million, includes $10 million guaranteed and has a maximum value of $19.5 million. The Steelers included $5.85 million worth of playtime and team performance incentives into the deal, which means they’ll only dish out money if it’s earned.
How does that compare to his last contract?
The New York Jets spent a total of $75 million, and still have $49 million on the books over the next two seasons, so… not half bad.
Rodgers will take part in the team’s mandatory minicamp beginning on Tuesday. The Steelers will then give him about six weeks before they convene for training camp at Saint Vincent College.
