Aaron Rodgers is officially set to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rodgers, after months of keeping the entire sports world on their toes, finally made his decision and will sign with the Steelers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
It’s been a long process to get to this point, as the four-time NFL MVP repeatedly made it known that he was willing to retire if the right situation didn’t come along. Pittsburgh is apparently the right situation, as a one-year deal is in place and will see the 41-year-old will attend mandatory minicamp next week, per multiple reports.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided some context to the move.
“Steelers never wavered in their belief that Aaron Rodgers eventually would sign with Pittsburgh,” Schefter posted to X. “Steelers (head coach) Mike Tomlin loomed large in this entire situation. Tomlin was a drawing card for Rodgers, and was happy to work within Rodgers’ timeline. He is a major reason that Rodgers will be a Steeler.”
