Rally Complete: Pirates Earn Walk-Off Win In Dramatic Fashion

Pittsburgh secured the win in the 10th inning

The Pirates needed extra innings to capture their third win of their five-game homestand, but they pulled it off in dramatic fashion after Oneil Cruz launched his second home run to tie the game 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning.

After Pittsburgh reliever Ryan Borucki gave up the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th, the Pirates again rallied to secure the 6-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night at PNC Park.

With two outs in the bottom of the 10th, the Pirates won on a wild pitch by Abner Uribe as Adam Frazier scored from third base.

In the bottom of the 10th, Alexander Canario tied the score 5-5 with an RBI single, scoring automatic runner Spencer Horwitz from second. Canario took second on an error by Jackson Chourio in center field. Isiah Kiner-Falefa ripped a base hit into right field, moving Frazier to third, but Canario was thrown out at home plate, preventing a Pirates walk-off.

The Pirates took full advantage of what happened next.

With Joey Bart at the plate, Uribe lost control of a pitch, allowing the Pirates to complete their rally.
