One of Pittsburgh’s favorite sons will be honored this summer at PNC Park.
The Pirates announced Thursday they will give away Mac Miller bobbleheads during their matchup with the Chicago White Sox on July 19 at PNC Park.
Pittsburgh made the announcement through a social media video, showing fans, team employees and even team legend Andrew McCutchen discussing what the local rapper meant to them. Miller, who died in 2018, was a lifelong fan of the Pirates, even having their logo tattooed on his hand.
“Everyone talks about Roberto Clemente and the Pirates, he’s a Pittsburgh guy, through and through,” McCutchen said in the video. “That’s what made people love him so much. Actually, a lot of my friendships was because of Mac Miller…”

Pittsburgh added a few cool things to the bobblehead, which made its way to Frick Park Market in the teaser video, showing the rapper with a black hat with the “yin and yang” symbol in black and gold and a white Pirates jersey, with the number 412, the city’s area code.
