NFL Rumors: Steelers Reportedly Fielding Calls On This Star Receiver

Can Pittsburgh make a deal to have a pick in the second round?

The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to be considering a trade for one of their star wide receivers.

After pulling off a jaw-dropping trade to bring in DK Metcalf, Steelers star wideout George Pickens could factor into Pittsburgh’s draft strategy, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.

“The Steelers have been receiving calls about the availability of WR George Pickens, per sources,” Russini revealed on X. “Pittsburgh is open to conversations as it navigates Friday night without a second-round pick (traded for DK Metcalf).”

As noted by Russini, the Steelers don’t have a pick in the second round after sending their own as part of the package to land Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks.

After selecting defensive tackle Derrick Harmon with the 21st pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, Pittsburgh is still looking for the right quarterback to lead the offense. Aaron Rodgers appears to continue to be in the mix to sign with the Steelers.

“The Steelers and Aaron Rodgers are continuing to maintain dialogue as the team waits on the future Hall of Famer’s free agency decision, a source tells me,” Russini posted on X. “No timetable has been set by either side.”
