Steelers Rumors: Meeting With Top QB Prospect ‘Did Not Go Well’

Yikes!

Shedeur Sanders probably shouldn’t expect to be drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, who is tapped into league circles, reported that the superstar prospect’s pre-draft visit with the Steelers didn’t go too well when appearing on Texans Today’s 2025 NFL Draft Special on YouTube.

“I’ve heard [Sanders] will not be a Pittsburgh Steeler. I heard that meeting did not go well,” Wilson said, as transcribed by Andrew Vasquez of the Steelers Wire. “And that wasn’t from someone telling me that — and this is always the assumption — because someone is trying to affect these boards.”

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac also previously reported that there’s “zero chance” the Steelers trade up to select Sanders — possibly due to the poor meeting.

The Steelers are still in no-man’s land when it comes to QB, though. Sanders might be able to be crossed off the list, but there are plenty of others still in contention to be the starter this season.
