The Pittsburgh Pirates dropped a 5-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds Saturday night, though the game saw a first for the 2025 club.
Pirates outfielder Alexander Canario slugged his first home run for Pittsburgh in the fifth inning off of Cincinnati’s Andrew Abbott at Great American Ball Park. You can check out Canario’s homer here.
Pittsburgh added Canario at the end of March in a trade with the New York Mets. Canario previously had just two career home runs in a pair of seasons with the Chicago Cubs. The 24-year-old hopes to catch on with the Pirates as he still has less than 30 games of MLB experience across parts of three seasons in the National League Central.
