NFL Rumors: Steelers ‘Getting Closer’ To Key Offseason Decision

It figures to be either the Giants or Steelers for Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers now has one less suitor, and that should mean the Steelers are another step closer to figuring out their quarterback situation.

NFL reporter Josina Anderson reported Tuesday the Steelers felt they were “getting closer” to a decision.

“(Mike) Tomlin was very adamant about getting DK Metcalf from what I hear, clearly he’s still at the table over his dice on Rodgers, now he has to bring it home,” Anderson wrote on X.

The Minnesota Vikings took themselves out of the running for Rodgers, as first reported by NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero on Wednesday. The four-time NFL MVP now will decide between the New York Giants or the Steelers. The Athletic on Saturday reported Saturday he could also consider retirement.

Pelissero reported there is “ongoing dialogue” between Rodgers and the Steelers.

Either way, it shouldn’t be long before there’s another signal-caller in the Steel City.
