Paul Skenes still looks the part of the talented Pittsburgh Pirates ace that took home Rookie of the Year honors in 2024.
He took the mound in another spring training outing Tuesday against the New York Yankees. Skenes did have a few hiccups with a pair of walks and allowed a home run to Trent Grisham. Otherwise, the right-hander looked sharp with just one earned run allowed over four innings on four hits with five strikeouts.
Skenes put together a respectable spring so far in Bradenton, Fla., to the tune of a 3-0 record with 12 strikeouts in 10 innings of work for Pittsburgh.
Skenes should have another fun year ahead as he enters his first full season with the Pirates after Pittsburgh called him up last spring.
