If Aaron Rodgers wants to play another NFL season, he reportedly won’t be doing so with Gang Green.
The New York Jets informed Rodgers last week the organization intends to move on from him, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported ahead of Super Bowl LIX. The fact Rodgers flew to New Jersey to meet with the team hints he will try to continue to play into his age-42 season, Glazer wrote.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer on Monday questioned if the Pittsburgh Steelers could be one of the teams who try to pursue Rodgers.
“Now, obviously, if he comes back, the list of suitors will be short, because teams would have to check a bunch of boxes for interest on either end to develop,” Breer wrote in reference to Rodgers’ next landing spot. “But if he doesn’t want to go out like this … I’d have to think someone (Pittsburgh? Cleveland?) would take a swing.”
Breer isn’t the only one who’s raised the idea of Rodgers to the Steelers. Longtime NFL writer Peter King explained why Pittsburgh should consider a move for the four-time NFL MVP.

The Steelers have a major question mark at the quarterback position with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields set to enter free agency. Neither Wilson nor Fields did anything to cement themselves as the team’s signal-caller entering 2025 and beyond, and the Steelers’ aging roster could prompt them to target a better short-term option in hopes of making a run.
