The Pittsburgh Steelers have some holes to fill this offseason.
Pittsburgh started the 2024 season off in a phenomenal way. There was a time in which the Steelers were 10-3. But, they lost their final four games of the regular season to end the year with a 10-7 record. Pittsburgh then was knocked out of the playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round.
The Steelers clearly need to address the quarterback position, add more firepower to the wide receiver room, and add more pieces to the secondary. One easy way to do so would be through the National Football League Draft. The Steelers have the No. 21 pick in the draft and CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso projected Pittsburgh to select Notre Dame standout cornerback Benjamin Morrison with the pick.
“Benjamin Morrison is simply too sudden for the Steelers to pass on him here,” Trapasso said when describing the pick. “He’ll be an instant starter in Pittsburgh across from Joey Porter Jr.”
Morrison appeared in just six games this season for Notre Dame due to a hip injury that prematurely ended his season. While this is the case, he’s widely considered to one of the top corners in this draft class and likely would be higher up in the mock drafts if he didn’t get hurt. He had nine interceptions in his first two years of college football in 25 games of action. He would be a phenomenal pickup if he’s still around by the time the Steelers are picking.
