Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker T.J. Watt remains one of the most disruptive defensive players in the entire league.
Watt headlines a Steelers defense allowing the seventh-fewest points in the league with 20.5. The star linebacker leads the Steelers with 19 tackles for a loss and leads the team with 11.5 sacks and has had double digits sacks for six of the last seven seasons. He is a former Defensive Player of the Year is also the Steelers all time sacks leader.
Watt once again made franchise history after being named the Steelers MVP for the fifth time in his career, according to Penn Live’s Nick Farabaugh.
“Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt just made franchise history after being named the team’s MVP Award winner for the fifth time in his career,” Farabaugh said. “Watt is the first player in franchise history to win the MVP Award five times, as voted on by his teammates.”
“He has won it in five of the last six seasons, the only lull in that record being 2022, when he missed significant time due to a torn pectoral muscle. Watt says that he does not take earning the award again lightly, especially since his teammates continue to vote for him. Watt’s statistics this season have not been up to his usual standard, but he still has 11.5 sacks and remains one of the front runners for Defensive Player of the Year.”
