Russell Wilson Surprises Zac Brown On Stage With Steelers Jersey

Russell Wilson will look to rock Acrisure Stadium in his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was Zac Brown and Kenny Chesney’s turn Saturday night, though, as the two country stars were among those who performed during a raucous show in Pittsburgh.

Still, Wilson made an appearance. The new Steelers quarterback joined the Zac Brown Band on stage, gifting the lead singer a jersey — which Brown promptly tossed on, much to the Pittsburgh crowd’s delight.

Wilson certainly is doing whatever he can to endear himself to fans in Pittsburgh, as he’s made several notable appearances this offseason since joining the Steelers in a trade from the Denver Broncos.

Of course, he’ll ultimately be judged on how he performs between the lines. And if he doesn’t elevate his game after an underwhelming two-year run with the Broncos, the Steelers might need to strongly consider turning to Justin Fields as their starting quarterback.

After all, Fields showed flashes of being a viable starting QB with the Chicago Bears. But Fields more or less was a victim of circumstance, with the Bears eventually trading him and selecting USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

All told, the Steelers face an uphill battle in the AFC North, where the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns all look like playoff contenders. But Pittsburgh has enough defensive talent to make noise. And so far, at least, the vibes seem good as the Steelers build toward a new offensive identity.
