The Pittsburgh Steelers have a massive matchup ahead of them on Christmas Day and there seems to be a solid chance of a star returning.
Pittsburgh will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a matchup that surely will have huge implications on whether or not the Steelers win the AFC North. The Steelers and Baltimore Ravens are tied atop the division standings right now so this game is huge. It is a tough matchup as the Chiefs are 14-1 on the season, but the Steelers could get some firepower back ahead of the matchup.
The Steelers have been missing star receiver George Pickens as he has dealt with a hamstring injury. The offense unsurprisingly has looked different without its top pass-catcher, but he is “expected to play” barring one final confirmation, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac.
“George Pickens is expected to play against the Chiefs, pending one final health confirmation,” Dulac said.
This is a great sign. Pickens has missed the team’s last three games. The Steelers’ passing offense hasn’t looked the same and Russell Wilson has topped 200 yards passing just once over the stretch. Over the last three games, Wilson has passed for 158, 128, and 217 yards respectively. In the team’s last game before Pickens went down, Wilson threw for 414 yards and hadn’t been under 200 yards since Nov. 10.

Hopefully, Pickens can help jump-start the offense against the Chiefs.
