Steelers Quarterback Predicted To Land With Jets In Hypothetical Move

Who will the Steelers keep?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have two very good quarterbacks on the roster right now and it would be an absolute shock if both were back in 2025.

Pittsburgh was fortunate enough to land both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields this past offseason for cheap. Both have played well in Pittsburgh and clearly are big reasons why the team is 10-3 on the season. While this is the case, with neither under contract for the 2025 season, it wouldn’t be shocking to see one come back and one leave.

Wilson currently is the starter and there have been reports that the team is interested in bringing him back in 2025. If that becomes the reality, where will Fields go?

Bleacher Report’s scouting department predicted that Fields will end up landing with the New York Jets in free agency.

“2025 Free Agency: QB Justin Fields, Pittsburgh Steelers,” Bleacher Report said. “So much of what the Jets want to do this offseason will depend on whether Rodgers is back and who the head coach is going to be. If the quarterback is going come back and the Jets are game for another run with the veteran, then they will likely draft a backup signal-caller who could take over.

“But if the partnership is over, then the Jets may want to find a bridge quarterback who can allow them to take their time with a rookie at the position. That might be a good job for Justin Fields. His run with Pittsburgh provided enough intrigue to get another crack at being a starter. If anything, his athleticism and running ability would give the offense a higher floor while a rookie prepares to start.”

Fields is just 25 years old and has a bright future no matter where he goes if he leaves Pittsburgh. Any team would be lucky to have him.
