The Pittsburgh Steelers had success in all phases of the game Sunday, including on the ground through a dominant running game.
In a full-on shootout, the Steelers managed to duel with the Cincinnati Bengals. Pittsburgh came out of the game with a 44-38 victory — one that was much-needed for the now 9-3 team. A big reason for their win was the performance by Najee Harris, who totaled 129 yards from scrimmage via 75 rushing yards and 54 receiving yards. He also managed to add a score to his efforts.
While Harris’ efforts were impressive, he did have to sit out an offensive series early on — which was a concern. Thankfully, Harris was fine and willing to admit to why he had to miss time in the early going — his Thanksgiving meal.
“Thanksgiving, Pat (Freiermuth)’s girlfriend, Jill, she made this fire-ass little banana thing,” Harris told reporters. “I had too much. I guess I didn’t know it affected me until that first drive. So, I blame her.”
Harris explained that he had some oranges to help him get over it, which he certainly did considering his overall performance for the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s running back now has 824 rushing yards on the campaign, closing in on his fourth-straight 1,000-yard season.
