The Pittsburgh Steelers are leading the AFC North with an 8-3 record, partially due to their ability to run the ball.
Although Pittsburgh has an elite defense, its improved offense has been getting the job done this season. With Justin Fields under center, the team was 4-2, and since Russell Wilson took over the starting job, they have gone 4-1. One thing that has not changed with the offense is their dedication to the run game.
Running back Najee Harris is in his fourth year playing for the Steelers. Harris has 749 yards on 191 attempts and three touchdowns this season, leading a Steelers rushing attack with the eighth-most total rushing yards in the league.
While appearing on the Joe Starkey Show on 93.7 The Fan, Pittsburgh-Post Gazette’s Brian Batko predicted that the Los Angeles Raiders are a potential landing spot for running back Najee Harris, as transcribed by Sports Illustrated’s Ari Meyer.
“I think he, too, wouldn’t mind a fresh start,” Batko said. “The team that I mentioned in my chat the other day when someone asked about him was the Las Vegas Raiders. We all know Marshawn Lynch was his mentor, another Oakland guy. They still have the same agent and stuff like that. They’ll be in the position, I think, to draft a rookie and probably pay a running back. So I think that would be pretty cool if Najee ends up in Vegas next year, I just don’t see him back here.”

Pittsburgh declined Harris’ fifth-year option, making him eligible for free agency after this season. Harris is a reliable back who has never missed a game for the Steelers. Pittsburgh may still re-sign him, but Harris likely will be pursued by teams in free agency.
