The Pittsburgh Penguins have had a lot of talented forwards throughout the last few decades with some being among the best in the entire National Hockey League.
Pittsburgh has been led by the likes of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin for the better part of the last two decades and while they’re near the end of their run together than the beginning, it’s led to three Stanley Cup wins in that time. There have been many other great forwards to take part in the team’s success as well, especially before the time of Crosby and Malkin.
Bleacher Report’s Lyle Richardson put together the Mount Rushmores of forwards for each NHL team dating back to 1990, and as you’d expect — Pittsburgh has arguably the best out of any team.
Richardson selected Crosby and Malkin as two of the four options for the Penguins and unsurprisingly picked Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr as the other two picks for the team’s Mount Rushmore.
It’s hard to argue any of the picks made, as Lemieux is a Hall of Famer while the other three are well on their way there. Jagr is second all-time in the NHL with 1,921 points while Lemieux ranks eighth (1,723), Crosby ranks tenth (1,614), and Malkin ranks 36th (1,314).
