Marc-Andre Fleury is preparing for his final game in Pittsburgh and he’s making sure to take it all in.
The Minnesota Wild’s netminder plans to retire at the end of the 2024-25 NHL season, meaning that Tuesday will likely be his final time playing in Pittsburgh after his storied career with the Penguins.
Fleury was selected by the Pens with the first overall pick in the 2003 NHL Draft. The goalie spent 13 seasons with the team, winning three Stanley Cups before moving on from the team via the Vegas Golden Knights expansion draft. Flower has the most wins in Pittsburgh history with 375 victories, posting a .912 save percentage (SV%) and 2.58 goals against average (GAA).
When asked by the media about his approach for his final game in Pittsburgh, Fleury was all about the memories.
“Deep breath, look around, take a good look around,” Fleury said. “Good memories. I was very fortunate to play here for so long… It will be nice to do it one more time.”
