Pittsburgh Pirates infield prospect Termarr Johnson has looked impressive recently in the Arizona Fall League.
The Pirates took Johnson with the No. 4 pick in the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft. The 20-year-old infield prospect spent last season with High-A Greensboro and Double-A Altoona, slashing .237/.366/.386 with 15 home runs and 54 RBIs in 124 games. Johnson recently batted .308 while playing in the Arizona Fall League.
Johnson earned the honor of playing in an upcoming tournament for USA Baseball, according to Sports Illustrated’s Nathaniel Marrero.
“Johnson was named to the USA Baseball team for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Premier12™ presented by RAXUS,” Marrero said. “Johnson, who is the Pirates’ No. 3 prospect by MLB Pipeline and the No. 75 prospect in baseball, is one of four top 100 prospects to make the team. He’ll be joined by fellow top prospects Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Carson Williams (No. 4), Chicago Cubs infielder Matt Shaw (No. 22) and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Justin Crawford (No. 53).”
“The tournament begins on Nov. 9 in Guadalajara and Tepic, Mexico. Team USA is one of six teams in Group A and will face Puerto Rico in its opening game. The top two teams in Group A move on to the Super Round, which takes place in Tokyo, Japan, from Nov. 21-24.”

This tournament includes twelve internationally ranked teams in Japan, Mexico, and Taiwan. Team USA will consist of top prospects along with a group of veterans. Johnson will look to keep up his hot streak of late in the tournament as one of the top prospects in baseball.
