The Pittsburgh Steelers have a tough decision to make.
Pittsburgh got back in the win column with a big 32-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6 and now is 4-2 on the season. The Steelers currently are technically in second place in the AFC North standings, but are tied with the Baltimore Ravens with 4-2 records.
There’s a lot to like about the Steelers, and young quarterback Justin Fields has led the way so far this season as Russell Wilson has been dealing with a calf injury. Wilson was active in Week 6 against the Raiders but served as the backup to Fields. Although the Steelers are in a good spot, a change could be coming as soon as this weekend.
Pittsburgh reportedly is “trending toward” starting Wilson in Week 7 against the New York Jets after getting first-team repetitions in practice, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“It seems to be trending toward Russell Wilson starting Sunday night vs. Davante Adams and the Jets,” Schefter said.

Schefter arguably is the most respected insider in the National Football League, so when he speaks, everyone should listen. If he is hearing that the team is considering a change at quarterback, then that very well could be the case. Wilson was expected to be the team’s starting quarterback this season but the calf injury opened the door for Fields to start the first six games of the season.
While Fields played well, it does sound like a chance at least is in consideration.
