Steelers Quarterback Ruled Out Once Again Ahead Of Cowboys Clash

Pittsburgh released its inactives list

The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to get back on track on Sunday night.

Pittsburgh is 3-1 on the young season but is coming off of its first loss of the season. The Steelers won their first three games of the season but lost in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts. Now, the Steelers will look to get back on track on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 action from Acrisure Stadium.

The Cowboys are entering the tilt with a 2-2 record and will face off against young quarterback Justin Fields. Pittsburgh has had plenty of question marks about the quarterback position, but Fields has been nothing but a positive answer. The Steelers brought in Russell Wilson and Fields this past offseason and the expectation was that Wilson would be the starter.

A calf injury has held him out so far this season and he still isn’t ready to be active for a game. Pittsburgh ruled out Wilson and had him as one of the team’s seven inactive players for the Cowboys clash.

Wilson has made progress in his recovery from his calf injury, but he still isn’t ready to be active for a game, it seems. Even if he was active, Fields certainly has made it tough to take him out of the lineup. Fields has been fantastic so far this season and if he can keep it up will be the team’s starting quarterback moving forward.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on Wilson in the near future, though, especially with the trade deadline approaching.
