The Pittsburgh Steelers are still looking for help in the passing game, even after their hot start to the 2024 season.
After a training camp and preseason filled with more question marks than answers on the offensive end of the field, Pittsburgh has made sure to answer the biggest one with Justin Fields delivering at the quarterback position. The former first-round pick has led the Steelers to a 3-0 record to kick off the campaign, and now it’s time for the Steelers to look for improvements elsewhere for the long-term run.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that Pittsburgh is expected to “monitor” the wide receiver market with the need to fill the No. 2 spot on the depth chart following George Pickens.
The Steelers came close to acquiring San Francisco wide receiver Brandon Aiyuki in the preseason, but the wideout decided to re-sign with the 49ers right before the regular season began.
Calvin Austin III has stepped up in the first three games of the season, posting six receptions on nine targets with 108 receiving yards and one of the two receiving touchdowns on the team. Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger went as far as to say on his podcast “Footbahlin” that the team still needs a No. 2 receiver, so it seems the team and their old quarterback lineup.

Pittsburgh will try to move to 4-0 on Sunday when they take on the Indianapolis Colts.
