The Pittsburgh Steelers clearly have shown that they are willing to make a deal for a wide receiver.
Pittsburgh was heavily linked to San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk throughout the summer and seemed like the only possible landing spot other than an extension with San Francisco itself. The Steelers tried to land Aiyuk and it seemed like they were going to acquire him but he ended up signing a massive new deal with the 49ers.
The Steelers still could use another receiver and Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox mentioned them as a fit for New York Giants receiver Darius Slayton.
“Like the (New England Patriots), the Giants aren’t expected to be particularly good this season. This could eventually lead to New York selling off pieces who will hit the open market next spring,” Knox said. “In the case of veteran receiver Darius Slayton, though, there’s more at play. He made the 53-player roster because he’s been New York’s most consistent receiver over the past few seasons, but he may not see significant playing time in 2024…
“As mentioned, the Steelers lack a proven No. 2 receiver. Slayton could help fill out a receiver group that consists of Van Jefferson, Scotty Miller, Calvin Austin III and rookie Roman Wilson behind (George Pickens)…Potential Suitors: Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers.”

Slayton has shown some flahes throughout his time with the Giants but hasn’t gotten great quarterback play to support him. A move to Pittsburgh certainly would change that and could help take his game to the next level.
