Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers Compares Himself To Mike Tomlin

Tomlin and Rodgers have a lot in common

Aaron Rodgers and Mike Tomlin are birds of a feather. Tomlin is one of the greatest, most accomplished head coaches in NFL history, while Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

They’ve both been around the block and seen it all at this point. Tomlin has been the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach for 19 years and has never had a losing season. Rodgers is in his 21st season and is still playing at a high level.

They both won a Super Bowl over a decade ago but have endured numerous postseason failures since then.

As the Steelers prepare to host the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round this weekend, Rodgers praised his head coach and even compared himself to him.

“Mike T has had an incredible career as a HC to go that long and never have losing season. It’s unbelievable. There’s always going to be something,” said Rodgers, who’s endured several losing seasons over the course of his career. “Mike T’s probably like me. Doesn’t give a whole lot of (expletive) about any of those comments.”

Tomlin is 53 and Rodgers is 42, so they’re not too far apart in age. They both say quirky things off the field and are often no-nonsense.

They’ve both endured their share of criticism over the years, too. People have been calling Rodgers washed up for years now, while Tomlin has heard frequent calls for him to lose his job.

And yet here they are, still going strong, preparing for their first playoff game together.
