There’s nobody like Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin has a knack for giving unusual quotes and phrases, called “Tomlinisms.” He pulled out another one after the Pittsburgh Steelers’ stunning 26-24 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
The Steelers miraculously survived, winning the game on Tyler Loop’s missed 44-yard field goal as time expired. If Loop had made it, Pittsburgh would have lost by one point at home and missed the playoffs. The Steelers’ season would have been over, and the Ravens would have advanced to the postseason instead.
After the game, a reporter asked Tomlin how he would have felt if Loop had made the kick instead, and his response was classic Tomlin.
“You know how it is. If my aunt had male parts, she’d be my uncle,” Tomlin joked, ending his postgame press conference on an unusual note.

Tomlin doesn’t live in hypotheticals. If Pittsburgh had lost, it wouldn’t have won. Things would be different. Simple as that.
The Steelers live to fight another day, and their season isn’t over just yet. The AFC North champions will host the Houston Texans next Monday as they seek their first postseason win in nine years.
